Kiley Remington, Graduate Student
I am a second year student in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Mount Mercy University. My training and education has helped me to look at an individual, couple, or family through a systemic lens. I believe that our everyday interactions, no matter how large or small, influence how we feel and act both alone and towards others. I am excited for a future career working with individuals and couples to make positive changes within the systems they live in every day. This opportunity at the Cedar Rapids Relationship Center will give me the space to further improve my personal practice, and develop into a more well-rounded therapist. I have five years of experience working with survivors of sexual trauma, and hope to use the skills I’ve acquired to better shape my therapeutic style.
I thoroughly enjoy being outdoors, whether in the woods camping or kayaking down one of Iowa’s rivers. Don’t let my summertime hobbies fool you though, I’m a sucker for a Saturday filled with snacks and Netflix as well. I enjoy watching football, preferably the Ravens, and am always interested in a pick-up game of volleyball. In session I tend to be laid-back and enjoy using humor!
You can call or email to set up a $10 session – I hope to meet with you soon! 🙂
