Individual Therapy

At first you might ask yourself, “Why would I go to a ‘Relationship Center’ for individual therapy?” The answer to that question is very simple.  As humans we do not live an isolated experience. We are impacted by the people in our lives.  Marriage and Family Therapist recognize that these relationships are a piece of the puzzle.  They need to be considered and factored into what we do in therapy.  If we ignore them, the changes we work to achieve in therapy will not translate to the client’s everyday life.  If we factor those relationships and interactions into the picture, we are more likely to have a complete view. Then the changes we strive to make will likely translate to everyday life.

Individual therapy is a collaborative process where a client works one-on-one with a therapist to explore feelings, beliefs and behaviors. Therapy can help people confront barriers that interfere with emotional and mental well-being, while increasing positive feelings towards self and others.  A therapist can assist clients in exploring the meanings they give to others’ actions and how these meanings influences their own responses and feelings.  By increasing self awareness and understanding we hope to facilitate personal growth and change while also enhancing quality of life.
